About Us

Profile

Van-Go Painting & Decorating LLC, formerly D&B Enterprises was established in 1983 in Lakeland, Florida by myself, Bill Chamberlain and my partner, Dan Sheehan. At that time, we specialized in residential painting in the Polk County, Florida market. In 1992, we moved to Anna Maria Island and changed our name to Van-Go Painting & Decorating, serving Manatee County, Florida and the surrounding areas. At this time, we expanded our services to include commercial painting, restoration, and pressure washing.

Dan passed away in 2005 after a battle with cancer, and today I'm proud to carry on Van-Go Painting, Inc. as a U.S. Navy veteran and small business owner. My tradition has always been to exceed the customer’s expectations and I have nearly 2600 of them in my 28 years in business. I still treat each home like it was my own very first home.

I provide references, and in the event there is an issue or a problem I stand behind the work that I perform and rectify those problems if and when they arise on rare occasions. While nobody is perfect I still strive to be all that I can be. I may not have everything in the world, but I do have my word. My best advertising has always been a satisfied customer.

If it is done properly, a great paint job can add more value to a home than perhaps any other home improvement project. It can also prevent much of the collateral damage that occurs to a home while enhancing it’s appearance. My slogan has always been “Protect your largest investment” and for most people that means their home.

My grandfather settled in Bradenton in 1952 and spent his winters here, and I know someday they will sprinkle my ashes in the gulf with his. I can’t imagine living anywhere else in the world than here in paradise. Having our local beaches ranked #1 in the nation only underscores how I feel today. There’s really no place like home when you’re this far away.
